Bilge separators, oil content meters and sewage plant. All of it type approved, and supplied with the certificates class and the flag state will ask to see.
15 ppm bilge separator
A vertical separator that looks after itself. It backwashes on its own and discharges the separated oil automatically, so nobody has to stand over it.

The separator arrives as a finished skid. Mounted on it:
- Safety, air vent, drain and solenoid valves
- Oil discharge valve with an open and close indicator
- Pressure regulating valve on the discharge, and a pressure gauge with its valve
- Test cock and sampling cock
- Thermometer on the body, and an oil level detector
- Electric heater with its own control panel
- Pressure reducing valve on the fresh water supply for backwashing
- Automatic control panel with the bilge pump starter built in
- Name plate, operating plate and lifting lugs
Emulsion treatment unit
Bilge water that has been through a purifier or picked up detergent comes back emulsified, and gravity alone will not split it. That is what the second stage is for. It carries a coalescer, its own inlet, outlet and drain valves, an air vent and a backwash water inlet. A three-way manual test valve is fitted so the unit can be proved at harbour inspection.

15 ppm bilge alarm
Listed as an option, though most flags will expect one. If the oil content passes 15 ppm the meter trips the three-way valve and sends the discharge back inboard.

Sewage treatment plant
Required on any vessel of 400 gross tons and above, and on any vessel carrying more than 15 people. Both types work the same way underneath: bacteria growing on a large surface break the sewage down. What differs is whether that surface sits still or moves with the flow.

Moving bed packs more capacity into the same footprint. Fixed media with activated carbon is cheaper to run than a membrane plant and the tanks can be split and changed a section at a time. Either way the plant comes as one unit, with the control panel, discharge pump, aeration blower and the rest of the fittings already mounted and wired.
Spares and tools go with the equipment, to whatever class and the regulators require.
